Chinese Chicken Fried Rice

Lately my husband has grown a bit bored with my dinner ideas. I challenged him to find a recipe he would like to try and to cook it for us.

I was impressed with his skills and surprised at the wonderful flavor of the rice dinner. 

Hopefully this has inspired him to try cooking new recipes and giving me a break every once in a while! ;)

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice Recipe


1 egg
1 T. water
1 T. butter
1 T. vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
2 cups cooked white rice, cooled
2 T. soy sauce
1 t. ground black pepper
1 cup cooked, chopped chicken meat


1. In a small bowl, beat egg with water. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium low heat. Add egg and leave flat for 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from skillet and cut into shreds.

2. Heat oil in same skillet; and onion and saute until soft. Then add rice, soy sauce, pepper and chicken. Stir fry together for about 5 minutes, then stir in egg. Serve hot.
